New York New York New York. We can't get enough. I will be back. Someday. To bask in your raw , sublime, aching, and eccentric picture.
So, I went to Numbers yesturday (finally). It's a famous concert venue in Houston. As famous as say CBGB is to New York. I went with my middle bro to watch this band that he liked. It was like a 2.5 hour set... I stood inline for tickets for about an hour and we were rockin it until 2am. I felt quite old. Got tired and sleepy. And the music was alright. But the beer was worse. Numbers didn't quite fit my picture of all the bands that seemed to have played there one time and another. Such as Nirvana.
When I was a really young kid, like the age of 4 or 5 or maybe 6 or 7, I'd stay up really late at night with my two brothers. When I mean late at night, I mean up until past midnight. We'd all sit in the dark and watch MTV. We'd watch music videos for hours. They had shows after shows like Yo MTV Raps or shows that aired obscure but cool music. I had my glimpse of the 80's, and New York. They'd always show New York in the background somewhere. From there, my image of my great city started. I'd soon go up there before any of my brothers ever could. It's always about music. The culture in that city.
We all live there some time or another. We then leave it, miss it. And keep on missing it until we come back. New York, I love you not paris.

yea i saw the lego thing! it IS really cool! don't you feel special.. in the days of our youth, we got to live & experience nyc, make it our home. You'd eat your baby food and all i could afford was canned beans and cheap ass bagels, lol
i didn't have cable at home, so no mtv for me, or nickelodian or anything. But i did end up watching a lot of interesting stuff cos of the siblings. It's nice to have older brothers/sisters because you get to experience all these things that you probably would not have cared for, or been able to see/do, when you were young, without them.
