My new year is definitely beginning already! Last night, I just installed my paintings at the Starbucks in the Rice Village. So if you're ever around the area, drop by for some coffee and my art!!! It'll be hung for a whole month until February 1st. I also put the prices at $50 each, reasonable for art student stuff being sold in a cafe setting... If people actually buy them, I'll have to make more paintings and put up more before my contract period ends.
Today, I dropped off my sewing machine to be fixed so I can start sewing pillows, tiny purses, and fix my clothes! I started to come up with a "line" I might make. I made these like artists tags made of white fabric that have my name (resa) on it with a heart. Stamps are so useful!
Tomorrow I'm dropping by Mad Potter, a paint your own pottery place to dropoff my application and interview with the manager. And then I'll apply to the tutoring Kumon position once I know my hours for the more creative job...
What's next?!?!?!? Lose that 15 lbs ?!?!?

Anyway. i ahve not heard back from the Huntington learning center, so im kinda freaking out. i should call them to see what's up.. aghh
ooh i like the labels! you bought those.. whatever scissors... pinking shears! i want those! i dunno what their purpose is, but.. i like them, lol. and i'm glad u like my kusudamas, yay! i bought some awesome paper from an art store ages ago, and never got around to cutting it.. but hopefully i will soon (i need a damn paper cutter), and will make more. It's sooo relaxing, like.. a kind of meditation, in folding paper. who needs god, haha. And i'm pretty sucky at sewing actually! too bad we can't sew together! i'm sorta thinking of taking a beginner's sewing class too.. it's only $100. anyway yea.. getting back into art is hard! i stopped so long ago, cos i got too caught up in academics.. at least u were doing it in college!! i wish i did art in college, sigh.
**oh funny story - remember that sunbathing bear t-shirt henry bought at the thrift store?? so he just found out that the shirt is pink - he thought it was white the whole time! lol he was kinda shocked, and wants to wear the shirt onto to bed, but i'm forcing him to wear it to classes and stuff. Color-blind ppl are hilarious.
btw u should make ur own stamps! like.. lithography or something? whatever that carving rubber stuff is called. julia did it all the time, and it looked really fun. i may give it a go, someday..
