What to do , How to do

So, my summer has been blown out of plan after being rejected by the Rice University Radio station on my attempt to secure a gig as a "community" dj. I guess this is probably the most popular unpaid position in all of Houston. *great sigh*. I was quite depressed for a week after I got their rejection email. I was so set on spending my summer at the station, making new friends, having a common niche in this community that I am absent from, learning new skillz, listening to new music, attending shows and just being part of something awesome. The interview went great, but I guess there were too many applicants they said... Maybe I did say something wrong....? I don't know anymore. Working at KTRU was the answer to my summer, my prayers, my rebounded happiness that didn't involve a boy. But God, striked down his hammer , oh wait that's Thor. Whoever's in charge above the clouds really just wanted me to work harder for my contentment...

Options on meeting new people:

a.) Yoga Class
b.) Painting Class
c.) Work at a food chain
d.) E-harmony

Okay, that last one was sort of a joke. Sort of. I did sign up for it, but after just doing the questionaire and reading people's profiles, I just cannot take it seriously. All the guys they matched me up with were like 31 years and up. And they were all for some reason 6'1'' and taller. Any suggestions on what I can do in H-town to meet new friends??
