Idears

So, my friend Jimmy took me out to dinner last night to catch up on stuff. I told him I wanted to be a radio DJ for Rice University. He said I got a pretty good voice for radio. Well, that does it. I'm totally gonna apply for the spot coming January. A few people in the past have told me I should've been some sort of announcer and I kind of secretly always wanted to major in broadcasting.

So, I made a professional artist's blog since I don't know how to use html whatsoever. I got the idea from Starbucks. My brother works there part-time and I spent the whole weekend studying there while drinking free hot chocolate. At this particular starbucks, local starving artists actually hang up their works for sell. My bro suggested I put up my own and see who would actually buy my shit and for how much b/c he's seen people walk in and just bust out their wallets for whatever's exhibiting after buying their morning cup. So he got me the application. Whoopie right? Starting my art career in Houston at a starbucks. I actually don't mind it one bit. One reason is b/c I don't know anyone in the Houston art community and it'll be a good way for me to get my feet wet. Second, this starbucks is different. It's in the Rice Village and a lot of artists, musicians, and whatnots hang around. I've already met the commoners and most of the people that come in are real cool about it. They've even got someone in there selling home-knitted scarves. But the artist that's up right now in Starbucks is this painter, and she leaves her business card and such as advertisement. Good idea. So, I made a new blog: http://theresanguyen.blogspot.com/ I obviously have no new art! But that will change soon enough once school stops owning my ass for the next several months.

I'm gonna hopefully be putting up this series I made a year ago. It's called Helper-Monkeys. I think some people saw it at this previous show I had it in in Brooklyn. It's a tri-panel of watercolor drawings on wood. My bro suggest I should call it "Baristas".
